I was born in Kansas City, MO. I spent most of my early life living in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Skokie until the age of 6, Mt Prospect until 14, Des Plaines until 17.
I graduated from Elk Grove HS in 1970. I graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 1974.
I worked as a life guard while in college. After I graduated I worked as an engineering intern for Eaton Corporation. I worked at three of their facilities: Dispenser Division, Lanark, IL; Forge Division, Milwaukee, WI; Yale Lift Truck Division, Philadelphia, PA. After completing my commitment to Eaton, I went to work for a family owned business, OEM Products- an auto parts distribution company, where I met my wife. I held various positions during my employment: Plant Manager, Catalog Manager, Data Processing Manager, Field Sales and Clinic Presenter, and Sales Manager. Chicago Rawhide purchased OEM Products and I was named Operations Manager of their new subsidiary. I took a position with Prince Castle - A Clorox Co. as Data Processing Manager overseeing a more than doubling of their sales volume while reducing their clerical and data processing budgets. I started my own business, Precision Analytical, Inc., which provided software and hardware support to the Mexican Produce Industry. Note: In the 90's and early 2000's when you ate produce in the winter the odds were that the tomatoes, peppers, etc. were imported on my software.
After selling my company to my employees, I have been involved in charity work. I have held the position of Local Board Chair, State Board Chair, and Continuing Education Committee Chair with the Foster Care Review Board of Arizona. I am active in the Delta Society - a Pet Partner therapy animal organization. My dog, Missie and I volunteer at University Medical Center, St Joseph, and St Mary Hospitals. We also visit at a local library to allow children to read to a dog.
